Cultivating Creative Flow: The Power of Ritual

Launching in January! Details coming soon!

Be it writing, art, music, performance or any other creative path, we all know, one of the hardest parts of doing our creative work is being consistent with our practice. Devoting ourselves to our work daily can feel easy and wonderful when we are in the flow, but when that flow is elusive or we are bogged down by life, and grappling with the part of us that is a bottomless pit of excuses, it can be tough. Developing a ritual can help.

Ritual is has been a natural and reliable part of the creative process for successful writers, artists, musicians, problem solvers and high achievers through out history. More than just a routine, a personal ritual is intentionally curated and implemented based on a person's own individual lifestyle, affinities, inspirations and beliefs that when used consistently, offers a dependable way to illicit the shift in focus and mindset necessary to do our creative work, at anytime, in any place, regardless of external circumstances or unhelpful thought pattens. Building a personal and empowering ritual into your writing practice will usher in the right conditions for flow to emerge as it taps into and harnesses the mindset and feeling tone that we relate to doing our own best work.

In this series of workshops, we will explore what ritual is (and what it doesn't have to be), how it differs from routine, and why it works. Through a combination of solo exercises, experiential examples and group discussion, participants will become familiar with which elements, channels of perception and types of inspiration speak most personally to them and leave with a plan to continue building and implementing their own personal ritual, as a step towards consistently finding the creative flow needed to do the work.

Embodied Awareness:

A 6 Week Meditation Series

This meditation series is offered via zoom. All times listed are EST.

Not just any old meditation group, the Embodied Awareness series provides a rich experience of exploration and discovery through guided and silent meditations, thoughtful and engaging discussion, and supportive weekly emails filled with suggested practices, experiments and insightful reading. Over six weeks, we will explore the ways that directing our awareness into our physical bodies, cultivating a grounded presence and noticing what’s there in any moment, can shift the way we experience and perceive, and therefore respond to, our day to day lives.

If you ever feel challenged by difficult emotions and/or thoughts through out the day, struggling to stay present in the moment, or endure physical pain, discomfort or illness so often you don’t know what it’s like to be without it anymore, or wish for deeper, more authentic communication and connection with others and your environment, or simply want to feel more clear minded, connected to your body and at ease, this series can help.

Each week, we practice getting out of our minds and into our bodies, to practice allowing and being with whatever is coming up for us at the time. I will discuss an aspect of embodied awareness, guide the group into a deep and grounded state of embodiment, and as we progress each week, a more expanded state of awareness. I will include a healing energy transmission to help support and integrate your practice. Afterward, I’ll offer space for reflection and conversation amongst the group. Weekly follow-up emails provide a recording of the meditation and discussion for your keeping, and suggested activities, tips and tools for further exploration of these topics on your own.

For anyone looking to establish, re-establish or deepen a meditation or mindfulness practice, Embodied Awareness offers support.

Each session will run between 60 and 75 minutes.

This series will be offered via Zoom on Mondays at 6:30pm EST.

Next session begins November 18th!

Cost is $99. Pre-registration is required. Click a button below to sign up!
