This treatment uses advanced techniques of Craniosacral work (a modality derived from Osteopathy) to address a variety of conditions including physical pain, chronic illness and mental/emotional unease, that are often rooted in past trauma(s) and held in the soma (body tissue). The treatment itself involves still, gentle hand placements along the body, combined with the safety and comfort of the steady presence and finely tuned perception of the practitioner. The experiences had with this work can vary person to person, session to session, but most commonly people are left with a sense of being more fully “in the body”, grounded and at ease. Pain and discomfort are often lessened or dissipated all together, and feelings of “lightness” and “being connected” to themselves and something larger are often reported. This is a 90 minute session and the work happens on a massage table, where you will be lying face up, and remain fully clothed. There are a number of positional options available for those whom find it uncomfortable to lie down or be supine (lying on the back) for long periods.
